Volunteer Quarterly Safety "Make-Up" Meeting - 3/11/15 at 4:00pm

Good afternoon to all I.D.I. employees,

As you all know, we held a volunteer quarterly safety meeting this past Saturday, 2/28/15. We offer a volunteer make-up meeting for those that could not attend the regularly scheduled safety meeting either due to working for I.D.I. on the Saturday of the meeting or due to unforeseen circumstances, etc.

The volunteer quarterly safety make-up meeting is being held on Wednesday, 3/11/15 at 4:00pm at our Barrington office. The main safety topic for this meeting is Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)!

We are asking everyone to help spread the word to all of our employees so they have the opportunity to attend.

Also if you are planning on attending, please contact our Safety Director, Peter Graham no later than Tuesday, 3/10/15 at 5:00pm to let him know as we need an approximate head-count for the meeting as we have to prepare materials and for chair rental purposes. Peter can be reached by e-mail at pgraham@4idi.com or text to (847-417-1689.

I.D.I. - 100% Safety Glasses - Effective 3/1/15

Good morning to all I.D.I. employees,

As you all know, we held our first volunteer quarterly safety meeting of 2015 this past Saturday. During the meeting, we rolled out a new policy in regards to eye protection. Effective March 1st, 2015, we are now a 100% safety glasses/eye protection company. This is basically the same rule that applies for head protection in that we require hard hats to be worn 100% of the time while on job sites. You only have 2 eyes and they are irreplaceable! In case you weren't at the meeting, we are asking everyone to help spread the word to the rest of our employees. We will be advertising this 100% safety glasses policy in the weeks and months to come. In case you did not attend the Saturday safety meeting, we will be hosting a volunteer make-up safety meeting on Wednesday, 3/11/15 at 4:00pm at the office and we will be training on personal protective equipment including the 100% safety glasses policy.

If you are a prescription glasses wearer, please keep in mind that prescription glasses are not impact resistant and can shatter if struck by a flying object such as a fastener pin. Prescription glasses do not meet the requirements needed for eye protection. The following are a few options to help prescription glass wearers to meet the 100% safety glasses requirement.  We provide over-the-glass safety glasses to wear over prescription glasses. Another option that many employees already do is to buy prescription safety glasses. If you are going this route, please talk to your eye doctor or prescription safety glasses provider to ensure the prescription safety glasses are ANSI Z87.1 approved.

Lastly, we want to thank all our employees that attended this past Saturday's safety meeting on personal protective equipment.  We hope you took something away from the meeting that will benefit you in the battle against injuries.  It is because of you that we are an industry leader in safety and that our safety culture is second to none.

If you have any questions about our 100% safety glasses/eye protection policy or anything else related to safety, please contact our Safety Director, Peter Graham at (847) 417-1689 or via e-mail at pgraham@4idi.com.

Have a Safe Day!
